Educators, welcome to the Stone Center’s educational outreach program called the Latin American Resource Center (LARC). LARC promotes the study of all subject matter relating to Latin America at the K-12, community, and university levels. In order to ensure accurate, integrated content for your classroom, we provide services such as teacher training workshops and conferences, free lending library curricular materials, documentary and feature film series, slide and curriculum publications, faculty and graduate student speakers, and personalized consulting.

FALL 2020



K-12 Educator Professional Development Series: Ancient Civilizations in collaboration with the Middle American Research Institute, AfterCLASS, and S.S.NOLA. This series highlights connections of indigenous communities across the Americas over time. Master teachers from the New Orleans area will develop a set of lesson plans based on the series which will be shared online this summer 2020.

The Pebbles Collection Virtual Story Time/La hora del cuento virtual hosts weekly bilingual, virtual cuentacuentos or storytime in collaboration with the New Orleans Public Library. Check them out each Thursday afternoon on the NOPL YouTube channel:here or on the Pebbles Center Facebook Page. Each story time features a guest reader affiliated with the Stone Center for Latin American Studies. Explore Latin America online through these virtual, bilingual story times.
