In the early twenty-first century members of the DeWolf family of Rhode Island set about exploring their family’s history as one of the largest slave trading dynasties in US history. Katrina Browne’s film traces these family members journey from Rhode Island, to Ghana and also to Cuba. The film seeks to engage multi layered questions about race, history and the history of wealth and inequity in the United States and beyond. After the film, one of the DeWolf family members, Holly Fulton, will facilitate discussion. Refreshments will be available.
