Former President of Costa Rica, Dr. Oscar Arias, Visits Tulane

Tulane University‘€™s Stone Center for Latin American Studies and the Center for Inter-American Policy & Research welcomed Dr. Oscar Arias, the former President of Costa Rica and Nobel Peace Prize recipient (1987), to campus at an impromptu yet special appearance on September 23, 2010. In Louisiana to attend the Hemispheric Freedom Symposium as the final keynote speaker, Dr. Arias paid a quick visit to New Orleans after the event and visited The Latin American Library and Stone Center for Latin American Studies on Tulane‘€™s Uptown campus. He was accompanied by Dr. Constantino Urcuyo, Academic Director of CIAPA, an academic facility in San José, Costa Rica, operated by Tulane.
