Pebbles Center Presents Saltimbanqui from Mexico

The Pebbles Center, Consulate of Mexico in New Orleans, Calliope Puppets and the New Orleans Jazz & Hertiage Foundation sponsored a week long visit by Mexican puppet troupe, Saltimbanqui. Throughout the week, Saltimbanqui presented an exciting collection of stories from Mexico in Spanish and Nauhat. Their stories were told at two charter schools in Algiers, Martin Behrman and William J. Fischer and then gave a performance at the Esperanza School in Mid-City New Orleans. In addition to their school visits, Saltimbanqui performed at the Pebbles Center in the New Orleans Public Library as part of the Saturday “Hora del Cuento” as well as at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for the thousands of festival-goers. This video shows part of their performance for Esperanza School students, teachers, and parents April 28, 2010.
