About the Film
Mountains of Resistance follows community defenders from People Who Love Their Hometown (community activist group in NE Thailand) as they embark on a journey to Oaxaca, Mexico to meet with other communities resisting mining projects.

This film depicts a rare moment when activists from different corners of the globe can come together and share common experiences of fear, danger, and triumphs as they fight for their land and resist forces of development without consideration for land or people.

Panelists: 1. Dr. Laura McKinney, Assistant Professor of Sociology 2. Dr. Jeffrey Wickliffe, Associate Professor in Global Environmental Health Sciences 3. Zoe Swartz, Tulane and Study Abroad Alumna
