Shelter from the Storm: Tulane Offers Tuition-Free Guest Semester for Students Impacted by Hurricane Maria

October 16th, 2017

The original story was published by Jeff Schiffman, Director of Admission, on the Tulane University Admissions Blog, on October 13, 2017.

A few weeks ago the Tulane University Admissions Blog published a post letting students in Puerto Rico know that Tulane and New Orleans would stand with them as they began their journey toward recovery. Tulane University is offering a tuition-free guest semester program for students from universities and colleges in Puerto Rico. Tulane will open our doors to students whose lives have been upended by Hurricane Maria for the spring 2018 semester provided that they pay their home institution‘€™s spring tuition. After Katrina, universities and colleges around the world took in our students with open arms; it‘€™s now our turn to pay it forward and assist students in need. This program is also open to students in other areas affected by recent storms in the United States Virgin Islands and St. Maarten/St. Martin.

For any student interested in spending their spring semester here at Tulane and in New Orleans, please visit Tulane University’s Admission Blog post Shelter from the Storm for more information.
