Verdade 12.528 (Truth 12.528) Screening and Q&A with director Paula Sacchetta.

In November 2011, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff signed law 12.528 creating a National Truth Commission to investigate forced disappearances and other political crimes committed by military and police officers during a twenty-one year military dictatorship (1964-1985). Launched soon after the commission’s inauguration, the documentary Truth 12.528 probes the commission’s mandate and especially the expectations it has raised for families of the disappeared and others. The film will be screened with English subtitles; the Q&A will be conducted in English.
