Cuban Ambassador Visits Tulane

On Thursday, April 3, Tulane University and the Stone Center for Latin American Studies. had the honor of hosting a delegation from the Cuban Interests Section in Washington, D.C., led by Ambassador José Ramón Cabañas-Rodríguez. While at Tulane, the ambassador spoke with faculty, students, and community members about contemporary Cuban politics and relations, met with Tulane University President Scott Cowen, and was given a tour of the campus by Dr. Thomas Reese, Director of the Stone Center for Latin American Studies.

In addition to the Tulane visit, the delegation was welcomed by the International Cuba Society of New Orleans, visited with officials from the Port of New Orleans, and met with Mayor Mitch Landrieu.


Cuban Ambassador José Ramón Cabaña-Rodríguez spoke with university faculty, students, and community members on April 3.


During his visit, the ambassador took a tour of Tulane campus and visited the Newcomb Art Gallery.
