Ludovico Feoli discusses upcoming elections and democracy in Central America

Ludovico Feoli, Director of the Center for Inter-American Policy and Research (CIPR), wrote an article in the Diplomatist discussing the upcoming presidential elections in Costa Rica and El Salvador. According to Feoli, “The solidity of recent elections in Costa Rica and El Salvador is not in question, but both countries face challenges for sustaining effective democratic governance, and democratic legitimacy will ultimately depend on their ability to tackle poverty and inequality, while maintaining the dynamism of economic growth.” The article continues to discuss each countries current positions and the candidates ideas to solve the problems their respective countries face.
