For some, one difficulty is finding a balance between their heritage and their Americanism. For the Gutierrez family participation on the Jefferson Parish Seahorses Swim Team helps. Reporters Jessie Freedman and Jasmin West dive into the family’s attempt to maintain their heritage while working on an American identity. Produced in spring 2013 in conjunction with Professor Casey Love‘€™s Politics of Immigration course and the Center for Public Service. 8:57.
