The Middle American Research Institute and the School of Liberal Arts invite you to the opening of the exhibit, “Faces of the Maya: Profiles in Continuity and Resistance” on Thursday evening.

The exhibit celebrates the development of the Maya civilization from its beginngings in 1000 BC to the present. Displaying objects from MARI’s collection that have never been seen before, this exhibit attempts to dispel erroneous notions of the Maya civilization that have recently gained currency due to the “2012 frenzy.”

Admission is free and open to the public.
